Love notes and texts meme

With regards to the love notes and texts meme and the overlaps that occur when it gets posted, we're thinking that perhaps it would work better on a monthly rotation given how there are other texting memes that come up throughout the meme.
If you have thoughts about this before any hard changes are made, we would like to hear back from you guys.

Things to consider:
1) Would the meme take the place of another texting meme when it goes up, like the Midnight texting meme? Or would it post on it's own schedule regardless of what else is posted?
2) Should this be specific to just the texting portion of the meme? Is there an interest in seeing it as a separate meme?
3) The meme as is may get posted more often in February, like the mistletoe meme in December, as was the case this past February.
4) Any alternative schedules/suggestions you think could also work.

(Anonymous) 2020-05-02 01:18 am (UTC)(link)It's not enough that I'd normally advocate for keeping it around. But given that we're in the middle of a pandemic with several countries enforcing stay at home orders, and, thus, there's a lot more bored RPers, and there is a difference between telling someone that you're making dinner for a date and telling someone you want to eat dinner off of their taut naked body, perhaps delay making a decision for a month?

(Anonymous) 2020-05-02 05:44 am (UTC)(link)i'd prefer if it were on a weds or thurs, tbh (last weds/thurs of the month) sort of thing, since that way it doesn't hit the gen, tfln, or sexting days.

(Anonymous) 2020-05-02 09:03 am (UTC)(link)honestly, there's nothing about gen/midnight texting that says it can't be shippy or love letter-y or anything, so to me, it's pretty redundant and seems more like a way to get around the rules and have more texting memes than necessary. yes, texting memes get a lot of comments but that's because they're relatively low effort, and even so, there's a lot of top levels and not necessarily a lot of replies.
so i think either just combining it with gen texting, or having it replace sexting once a month - or even just saving it to be posted in february for valentines are better options than letting it continue as is.

(Anonymous) 2020-05-02 10:02 am (UTC)(link)getting rid of any of the previous texting memes to make space for it just doesn't make sense.
there's a lot of people bored at home rn, i don't think having a little overlap with other texting memes is hurting anyone. i agree with above anon to delay the decision for a month.
alternatively just ignore the overlap. it's really a non-issue to me.
